He comes from the late 1800s so honestly he might not be super open about being with men, but this is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure so who is he kidding? 🌙 PHYSICAL AFFECTION: For newly created CR Diego will probably be okay with semi-friendly contact unless someone manages to be completely irresistible. He does like to appear more proper than he actually is at times, so there's a chance that he might put on airs and seem unapproachable but ultimately he'll do anything it takes for him to get ahead even if he would prefer for his dignity to remain intact. 🌙 HUGGING: Yes, absolutely! 🌙 KISSING: Yes, please do! 🌙 FLIRTING: Double yes! I live for this shit. 🌙 RELATIONSHIPS: While Diego likes to seem better than he actually is, he's not one that would be particularly open to an actual relationship unless it benefits him in a big way. Once he understands exactly how things work, he will be DTF and will be more than likely be open to a lot of things. He might eventually be interested in something more committal but to start out it's more likely to be strictly FWB and one-night stands. 🌙 PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Diego isn't generally outwardly violent, but if someone tries to attack him or hurt him in some way he will absolutely fight back. His Stand ability isn't world-breaking so he can turn into a dinosaur and will use it to his advantage if he needs to. Usually it's just his tail though and a lot of jumping around. Scuffles, fist fights, fight fucking is all good with me! If you have a concern that something might cross the line, please let me know and we can talk about it but I'm open to a lot of things. 🌙 DEATH: Even though he's died before, for the most part I would prefer to keep him alive this time around. For Diego specifically I love playing with this sort of idea since he is canonly aware of alternate worlds/parallel universes. 🌖 FIRST IMPRESSIONS (OPTIONAL)

🌙 VISUAL: Diego stands at 5'7" and has an athletic build. He doesn't have a canon weight, but since he's a jockey his weight should be on the lighter side but he is rather bulky; I would put him at somewhere around 68kg/150lbs. He has blonde hair and blue eyes, with body language that tells you he has a very high opinion of himself in comparison to others. Here is an example. Since his Stand ability allows him to shift into various 'dino-modes' depending on the situation someone might see him looking like any one of these things here. 🌙 FASHION: Throughout the series he only wears two outfits as an adult: his racing silks and a guard's uniform. He'll be more likely to wear his trademark clothing, but given that he has a fit physique he would do well in both more casual and formal attire. Someone show him the ways of fashion outside of the racing circuit! 🌙 DEMEANOR: Unfortunately Diego is a pompous ass, but he is capable of being more polite given the right circumstances. In his world he is technically a celebrity and he has an attitude to match. Rather than genuinely smiling he has a tendency to smirk, leaning more toward being blunt over placating others. While he'll try to give off a better impression at first, once people get to know him he's less likely to play nice and will look for ways to get under their skin somehow. 🌙 SOUND: Diego is very English and has cultivated an accent that makes him seem more posh than he actually is. Since he doesn't technically have an animated counterpart, he was voiced in one of the games by Koyasu Takehito since he's just another Dio. His voice lends to his overinflated ego, probably giving him an interesting cadence when he's trying to project himself as important and overconfident. If you prefer to think about his voice in English, I liken his speech patterns and timbre to be similar to that of Matt Berry. He did come from a poor background, so when he loses his cool I do have headcanon that his posh accent slips and betrays the image he's made for himself. In that case you can still imagine Matt Berry, but more like this instead. For some it might not make a huge difference, but it's different enough to be noticeable. 🌙 SCENT: The lingering scent of leather and dust, perhaps with a smidge of expensive cologne. The cologne probably not for long, though, sorry he's just going to be dusty and leathery for a bit. 🌙 MENTAL ABILITIES/DEFENSES: None to speak of! 🌙 MAGICAL ABILITIES/DEFENSES: Due to the fact that Diego has a Stand that is bound to his body, part of his abilities could be considered magical while the rest is strictly physical. In terms of what could be considered magical, his Stand does give him the ability to turn animals (both large and small) into dinosaurs; while the transformation is in place it does give him control over them to use however he needs. Usually it's more for the sake of trying to locate someone, though they could potentially be used to get an edge in a fight. He does also have the ability to 'fossilise' living things such as trees and even people, though that is something he would refrain from doing unless someone really asked for it. As it stands he did only use this twice in canon, once to fossilise a man to a tree and once to turn two men into very stylish decor. It could be a neat party trick, but it probably won't be. 🌙 PHYSICAL ABILITIES/DEFENSES: As mentioned previously Diego's Stand ability is bound to him which means that his activation happens on his person. What it does to him physically includes the following: Turning into a Utahraptor. Turning into a very humanoid dinosaur. Presenting with cracked and damaged skin on his face during transformations, he also manifests a tail that he can control relatively well but most of his features remain humanoid in this instance. Enhanced sense of smell. (present even when his ability isn't activated as well) Full dinosaur mode renders him unable to see things well unless they are moving, he can see things better if they are moving quickly so it's a pro/con sort of thing. In terms of defenses there's not much to speak on, due to his history with racing he's rather good when it comes to adapting to terrain but beyond that he'll probably just fight you with his tail. Personality: The base of Diego's personality can be described with one word: ambitious. Going beyond that he's a much more complicated individual, especially when you factor in the tragic past that shaped him into the man he became.

When he was a child he had a good attitude about things, despite the poor conditions that he was raised in. Happy, resourceful, adoring of his mother; he was definitely a very good kid without the same driving ambition we see as an adult. After she spoke out against abuse that she was suffering, she and Diego were both punished as a result; this was the beginning of the slippery slope that would eventually push him completely over the edge. His mother sacrificed her well-being to keep her son's dignity intact and eventually she fell ill, it was at this point that he began to resent those around him and their position in life. His mother's death wasn't just difficult for him to accept, it was something deeper than that: a personal slight against him. Those feelings of resentment that had formed within him had turned into something different, something far more dangerous and vengeful.

He didn't just dislike the people he'd grown up around, he hated them for allowing the treatment they had endured to continue. He vowed to seek revenge against those that had destroyed what little family he had, though that revenge didn't extend to the other workers at the farm but to the owner and even his own father (who tried to throw him in a river and abandoned them both when his mother fished him back out). His idea of revenge, however, was a little different than just going completely slasher on people; it was more about gaining prestige and climbing all the way to the top of the societal ranks.

This idea of revenge against his father and the people who had wronged him in the past his what fuels him; Diego is a driven young man that will stop at nothing to achieve what he's after. He can be cordial to others, but usually only when he's looking to get something in return or he's trying to get leverage on the other person. He is a user and a manipulator, much like his counterpart from another universe. If it will get him what he wants, he will absolutely do it, right down to marrying an old woman for her money.

The only thing that he actually seems to care about aside from fortune and glory is his horse, Silver Bullet, Diego even going as far as to call it his beloved. He's always been good with horses throughout his life, he had a way with them and from there he aspired to become a world-famous jockey (I did say he would do anything, but a jockey, really...). Despite the fact that he was already well-known, he participated in the Steel Ball Run to earn even more accolades and prestige, he saw it as just another step to his plan for some kind of domination over society. The addition of the search for the Saint's Corpse also proved to be a stepping stone for him, trying to collect pieces at first for his own benefit and then as time went on to sell them to the highest bidder; all he asked in return was...uh...all of Manhattan Island? That wasn't too much to ask for, was it?

As a result anyone that gets in his way will incur his wrath, causing him to lash out and let his true, vindictive nature show. If things don't go his way his temper can really flare, leading to verbal attacks, physical attacks, turning people into fossils (???), using his own fans as human shields? He'll lash out in whatever way is convenient for him, using situations to his advantage to move forward. He doesn't seem to be intentionally out to kill people, he doesn't possess a bloodlust, but if they die then they die and it's of little consequence to him. S H R U G. This is a lesson learned by those that have had to work with him, whether by choice or by assignment as part of a deal. He would much rather be in control of a situation and on some level in control of those that he has a need to work with, at one point explicitly stipulating that he wants a subordinate to help him secure more of the corpse parts.

Going hand in hand with his general resentment of people, he could easily be described as completely misanthropic. He considers humanity to be garbage (or more explicitly 'flock of pigeons') and tries to keep a reasonable distance from himself and other people. He would rather not be friends with anyone or to even work along with others but if it's necessary he can be rather cooperative and even a decent ally. As stated previously, though, just make sure that you watch your back because he will take the opportunity to get the upper hand if it's presented to him. He would, however, prefer to work alone.

While his general demeanor seems to be sour, if he's in the right place or feels like things are going his way he becomes rather smug. And if things are looking bleak and he can't work a way out of them right away he does have the potential to be frightened. He is a person in there, after all, just one that is constantly thinking about how to get what he wants. He's intelligent, able to calculate things and come up with precise plans at almost a moments notice; though sometimes it happens through trial and error. He is able to work out how things work, even things as abstract as stands and finds a way to adapt to the circumstances he's given; whether it's adjusting his fighting style or backing off to preserve his own life for another day.

He's a human. That hates humans. Also dinosaurs.

Powers: As a human Diego's special abilities are all related to horse riding and racing. He's a very talented jockey and naturally good with horses, able to adapt his riding style and skills to the terrain and against his opponents by analysing their movements. He's actually a rider that relies on information gathering like other horse's weaknesses and air pressure; so basically he looks for anything that might give him a boost of the upper hand. All of these abilities were enhanced when he received and continued to develop his Stand ability.

Scary Monsters is the Stand ability bestowed to him through the combination of both being under the influence it via an 'infection' and gaining control of the Saint's Corpse eye. After the ability becomes his own he's capable of the following things:

★ Turning into a Utahraptor.
★ Turning into a very humanoid dinosaur.
★ Turning animals, including his own horse, into dinosaurs. He can use his ability to transform smaller animals for the use of scouting and as aids if he needs to during an attack. Turning things into dinosaurs also gives him control over them for the length that they remain transformed (or alive).
★ Turning people into fossils or seemingly fossilised but also decorative inanimate objects.
★ Enhanced sense of smell.
★ Full dinosaur mode renders him unable to see things well unless they are moving, he can see things better if they are moving quickly so it's a pro/con sort of thing.

Abilities

♞ Horse-Riding Diego is one the most talented jockeys of his generation, his skill allowing him to ride across many types of terrain. He is able to use advanced techniques such as riding close to others in order to use their horse as air pressure shields to get ahead in a race. Moreover Diego possesses an uncanny talent for analyzing horses, notably having discovered Gyro's horse Valkyrie's ticks and weakness to exploit them, and being able to not only assert his horse's capabilities, but also that of other horses. His enhanced senses as from his Stand ability allow him to analyze horses and the terrain in order to secure the victory.

♞ Enhanced Sense of Smell In addition to his enhanced riding capabilities, from his Stand ability he also gained a very strong sense of smell. He's able to use it in order to track people by scent, but not indefinitely.
